Internship Spotlight: 5W Public Relations

Every week we will be posting a spotlight on an internship that a Hofstra PR student has had. We keep all of these internship entries in a binder, but we thought it would be beneficial to post them online also. Some of these internships might give you some ideas of where you want to intern and introduce you to somewhere you might not have heard of before. Look for these every Sunday!

What  were some of the things you were responsible for? Pitching, media lists, call downs, clip books, made a “magazine” for the huge event I worked, client research, sent out samples, and products.

What did you learn from this internship? Time management! There is a lot to do on a daily basis and you get the chance to take on a lot of responsibility.

What, if anything, did you dislike about the internship? There were errands to do for the associate VP – unrelated to PR.

Additional Comments/Advice: I was able to deal with the stupid errands because I actually got a lot of opportunity to do real PR work.
